What are the different types of Gastric Bypass surgery?
Traditional Gastric Bypass surgery or Open Roux-En-Y – In this kind of operation, the stomach is divided and a very small pouch is created which is connected to the small intestine, allowing the lower part of the stomach to be bypassed. Gastric Bypass surgery allows you to eat all kinds of foods but in small quantities. In traditional Gastric Bypass surgery, a larger incision is made that extends from the lower part of your rib cage up to your navel. Gastric bypass surgery in India is available at an affordable price.
Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass surgery- The smaller stomach pouch is created in this gastric bypass surgery. This small pouch can now hold a very small amount of food and a feeling of fullness is attained very quickly, even after eating less than one ounce, thus restricting your food intake considerably. As a result the body burns the fat for everyday energy. This surgery also changes the way your food is absorbed. Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass surgery is performed with the help of a laparoscope and is considered to be a minimally invasive procedure. International patients are coming for Gastric bypass surgery in India.
Fobi procedure – In this procedure for Gastric Bypass surgery, a very small pouch is created that is connected to the small intestine. This kind of procedure restricts the amount of food that can be eaten and at the same time also inhibits absorption of nutrients. Gastric bypass surgery in India is possible because some medical tourism companies are arranging it at a low cost.
Distal Gastric Bypass surgery - In this procedure, the Y – connection is made further down to reduce the length of small intestine available for absorption.
Biliopancreatic Diversion – In this type of Gastric Bypass surgery, a part of the stomach is removed leaving a small pouch with a 200 – 250 cc capacity and the small intestine is shortened to about 250 cm. This re-arrangement is done to divert the digestive juices so that starches and fats are not absorbed. This diversion of digestive juices does not effect the absorption of protein and sugars.
You can share my experience of Gastric Bypass surgery in India. In the case of international patients, Gastric bypass in India is usually prompted by the desire – or need – to have procedures done on the cheap in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Goa,Pune,Kerela,Hyderabad,Bangalore,Chennai.
Jejuno-ileal Gastric Bypass surgery- In this procedure, a very small segment of intestine is connected to the stomach pouch which results in significant malabsorption of nutrients.
BilioPancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch – In this procedure of Gastric Bypass surgery, the biliopancreatic digestive juices are available only to a very small length of small intestine to absorb fat and starches. This re-arrangement allows you to eat all sorts of foods except for foods containing large amounts of fats and starches which will need to be restricted. To make Gastric bypass in India easier, medical tourism of India offer package deals, arranging for visas, transportation, and translators
Gastric Banding (Lap. Band) – In this operation, an adjustable band is placed on the stomach giving it an hour-glass appearance, making a small pouch with a narrow outlet. This special device is made of implantable silicone rubber, contains an adjustable balloon, which allows your surgeon to adjust the function of the band, without re-operation.
Gastric Partitioning – This Gastric Bypass surgery is performed very commonly worldwide. In this kind of Gastric Bypass surgery, the stomach is stapled and reduced into a very small pouch that is is restricted at it’s outlet by a mesh which delays it’s emptying time, thus giving a feeling of fullness after eating just a few bites of food. Gastric bypass in India excels in providing confidential arrangements for private medical and surgical vacations that are no one’s business but your own.
Adjustable Banded Gastroplasty (ABG) – In this procedure of Gastric Bypass surgery, an adjustable band is placed on the stomach without any cutting or stapling of any organs. Medical tourism of India are dedicated to making your medical travel vacation for Gastric bypass surgery in India as pleasant, comfortable, safe, and affordable as possible

My experience can help you a lot, you can get a view of my story of gastric byass surgery in India by visiting this section.
Gastric Bypass surgery
Gastric Bypass surgery is considered to be the ‘Gold Standard’ for weight loss surgery in morbidly obese people. Gastric Bypass surgery offers a successful combination of weight loss without significant nutritional deficiency. The Gastric Bypass surgery restricts food intake and reduces the feeling of hunger. As a result, you experience an early sense of ‘fullness’ and satisfaction just after eating a few bites of food. Gastrointestinal surgery such as gastric bypass surgery is often the best option for someone that is severely obese and is unable to lose weight with traditional diet options. Gastric bypass surgery and other weight loss surgeries work by restricting the food intake. Gastrointestinal surgery for obesity, also called bariatric surgery, alters the digestive process.Gastric bypass Surgery in India excels in providing confidential arrangements for private medical and cosmetic surgical vacations that are no one’s business but your own.
Gastric bypass surgery makes the stomach smaller and allows food to bypass part of the small intestine. In a gastric bypass surgery, the part of the intestine where many minerals and vitamins are most easily absorbed is bypassed. They restrict both food intake and the amount of calories and nutrients the body absorbs. Medical tourism of India are dedicated to making your medical travel vacation for Gastric bypass surgery in India as pleasant, comfortable, safe, and affordable as possible. Most people who have open gastric bypass surgery quickly begin to lose weight and continue to lose weight for up to 12 months. To make Gastric bypass in India easier, medical tourism of India offer package deals, arranging for visas, transportation, and translators.
Ideal candidate for Gastric Bypass surgery
If you are 100 lbs. or more above the ideal weight for your age and height, if you have other health problems associated with being over weight like sleep apnea, hypertension, hyperventilation, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, if you have tried and failed all other non-surgical methods of weight loss like dieting, exercising etc, if you have a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 40 or above, then you are an ideal candidate for Gastric Bypass surgery. Beside Gastric bypass in India, there is a wide range of surgery packages at an affordable price in major industrialized cities like Mumbai, Goa, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kerela, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore.
After Gastric Bypass Surgery
Patients are typically notified up front of the possible side effects and severe risks of the gastric bypass surgery, such as fatality. The patient needs to decide if this surgery is right for them because the gruesome side effects may not outweigh the benefits. International patients are coming for Gastric bypass in India.
How does the Gastric Bypass surgery work?
Gastric Bypass surgery allows you to lose weight in 3 ways:The volume of food that you can consume at one time is restricted. Since the stomach has been divided into a small pouch by the Gastric Bypass surgery, you feel full after eating a small amount of food. There is modification of your eating habits. After Gastric Bypass surgery, you cannot tolerate refined sugars and fats, so you tend to avoid foods that contain them. Gastric bypass surgery in India is available at an affordable price.

Hello,
I am Catherine from US. My life is running smoothly, as I had gone to India for a Gastric Bypass Surgery, a couple of months before. It’s a miracle! I was 300 pounds, surviving at diet pills, steroids. I had tried all weight loss treatments, gone to several doctors, but I was the same just as I was. I hesitate to see myself in mirror and the hardest, I never felt womanly. I was becoming just like a big drum. I had tried all the things that people suggested me. But the weight would come back, often more than I had lost. I was so depressed. My dear ones said to do some thing about my obese figure.
After some days, I thought that why should I not go to a cosmetic surgeon? May be he can suggest something! As now a days cosmetic surgey is becoming very popular. I went and got an appointment with him. I discussed all my problems with him, about my lack of confidence, self-esteem due to obesity. After acquainted with my situation, he suggested me to take a Gastric Bypass Surgery. This was the only permanent solution of my problem. The cost he told seemed to be high and unaffordable to me. (The cost was 9000 $ USD) I thought that I won’t be able to take this surgery. I was in a search of low cost Gastric Bypass surgery(available at a very less price). But my surgeon told me that there are other alternatives also.
He suggested me to get Gastric Bypass surgery in India by recommending a famous medical tourism company known as Forerunnershealthcare that provides best medical healthcare facilities at an exclusively low cost. I send an e-mail to that medical tourism company. And to my surprise, the very next morning, I received a response e-mail from them. Then I made a call on their number that was given in their details and expressed my interest to get the Gastric Bypass Surgery in India at an affordable cost. They offered me a medical tour at a low price quote which had been arranged by them. They explained me the whole details of this surgery like who will be the surgeon, where will be I treated. They assured me the best medical treatment for gastric bypass in India. After this, I gave my consent to their offer of gastric bypass in India. They arranged visa, flight, and hotel for me.
When I came to India their representatives received me with a warm and hearty welcome. They dropped me at their booked hotel. Next day I went to meet the surgeon who was treating me and he discussed all the procedure with me. He prepared me mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically. Surgeons of india have achieved great success in the recent years to fulfil the health recovery expectations of patients coming to them. After having a talk with him, I was quite confident about the surgery. Hospitals of India are providing good quality gastric bypass surgery to international patients .I have also heard that hospitals of Mumbai,Delhi, Goa,Chennai,Hyderabad,Pune,Mumbai,Kerela and Banglore are serving good medical facilities in India. Gastric bypass in India is available at an affordable price. On 11 June 2005, I had my surgery, I was a little bit nervous also, but the wish to have a beautiful figure, I ever dreamed off, made me strong again, and I made it within myself that everything will be fine. The gastric bypass in India was successful and all went well. Thank God! I was lucky that I had no side effects by this gastric bypass surgery. Some minor problems occurred such as indigestion etc but after few days everything was fine with me. The doctors had advised me to drink plenty of water. There is a strict schedule that should be followed by every patient, so I did.
You won’t believe it, after this gastric bypass surgery, I had lost 150 pounds in a couple of months! I thanked to God and of course to Forerunnershealthcare medical tourism company. Now I am dealing with a new person in the mirror. Now I participate in all social activities with any hesitation. I have discovered a “NEW ME”.
If you are willing to take gastric bypass surgery then you should a consultation with your surgeon first, whether it is right for you or not because you should be well prepared for it.
